Dr. Donna S. Arendshorst is a licensed
psychologist in private practice. She
provides services for children,
adolescents, parents, families and
adults. Services include individual and
group treatment and parent and school
consultation. In her practice Dr.
Arendshorst has dealt with a broad range
of psychological issues concerning
social and emotional development,
learning, neurological and medical
disorders, and adoption, divorce, death,
depression and anxiety. Dr.
Arendshorst's theoretical orientation is
primarily cognitive-behavioral, but she
also relies on her training in
behavioral, dialectical behavior,
interpersonal, psychoanalytic, family
systems and Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapies. Dr.
Arendshorst has provided workshops and
presentations for professional
organizations, day care facilities,
preschools and elementary, middle and
high schools. Dr. Arendshorst has worked
for a developmental evaluation center,
pediatric psychology practice, schools
system and a mental health center. She
also taught at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she
earned her doctoral degree. Dr.
Arendshorst is committed to helping
individuals and families learn
strategies to improve their lives and
situations, as they learn about
themselves and become more
self-confident.
