Focus on IEP Goals

The TNT Reading System targets specific IEP goals, with tests for each goal built into the program. Each set of tests breaks down the goals into specific letter groups, sounds of words or in other relevant ways in order to identify explicitly the areas of possible deficits that need attention and further training. The test scores can be printed for inclusion in the students' records.

Customizable

The exercises can be set to progress automatically. Each skill is tested. If testing reveals that the student has not mastered the skill, she immediately receives training until mastery is achieved. You can select the option of running either the cognitive exercises or the reading exercises alone.

Matching letters to their correct consonant and vowel sounds

Discrimination between similar beginning or ending sounds of words
Distinguishing between long and short vowel sounds in words
Learning the different sounds of "y" as a vowel

Identifying words based on beginning and ending letters or sounds
Recognizing and spelling basic sight words of up to two phonemes

Identifying and discriminating rhyming words using short vowel sounds
Identifying and decoding beginning letters and vowels in simple words

Identifying and decoding ending letters of words

Recognizing and spelling basic sight words comprised of three phonemes

The exercises can be set to progress automatically, and each skill component is tested systematically at each level. If a deficit is found, the child receives immediate training until she can show mastery and pass the test. Specific skill areas can also be targeted and trained.
